This 12
th
Edition of the Talas catalog comes at a very exciting time in the history of our company. We continue in our
tradition of providing the finest quality products to Conservators, Artists and the Concerned Collector. Talas moves
forward into the future knowing that the conservation industry is always seeking new and innovative products.
The Salik family has been the proud owners of Talas for fourteen years. In the 90’s we launched our e-commerce website
and greatly expanded our product line supported by an ever increasing inventory. Our biggest leap is now in progress as
we renovate and relocate our facilities to a 19th Century feather factory in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn. This
new and larger space will offer us the opportunity to manufacture a large array of custom boxes, presentation enclosures
as well as to expand our current inventory.
We are thankful to you, our loyal customers. We welcome your suggestions and ideas so that we can continue to provide
you with the highest quality products. As always, we welcome you to our showroom where you can see our complete line
of products.
See you in Brooklyn and let us continue to service your needs.

TERMS AND ORDERING INFORMATION
Hours
You are welcome at our warehouse showroom to make your selection in person.
Our hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 A.M.-5:30 P.M.
Prices
All prices are current at time of publication but are subject to change without notice. Write for large quantity
prices and firm quotations. All prices are in U.S. currency. Price changes are in U.S. currency. Our website reflects
prices currently in effect and should be consulted.
Terms
Prices are FOB New York City. Credit terms are available for public institutions and government agencies.
Corporate accounts can be arranged; please request a credit application. Payments can be made by check, money
order, Visa or Master Card. Foreign payments are subject to a $25.00 Bank Collection fee if not made in dollars
drawn on a U.S.Bank. Resale and exempt certificates for NY State sales taxes are honored providing a properly
completed form accompanies order or is on file. Wire transfers from non-U.S.banks are subject to $25 Bank
processing fee.
Shipments
All shipments are sent pre-paid and the costs invoiced. Our preferred shipper is Federal Express for both ground
and air shipments. Services by the U.S. Postal Service are available, please be advised that shipments under
$100.00 are not insured and the risk of carriage is always with the recipient.
Ground shipments are restricted to 130” length and girth and 150 lbs. per package. Please remember that both
UPS and FedEx have added numerous accessorial charges: dimensional weight, oversized packages, rural and
residential deliveries. Details are available on the shippers’ websites. Oversized and heavy weight orders are sent
by common carrier of our choice unless customers’ shipper is specified and shipment is collect.
Hazardous
Hazardous materials require special handling and must be segregated from all other products. Presently there is
Materials
an additional $40.00 per hazardous material charge per item in addition to the cost of carriage. Accordingly, due
to this charge it is often economical to purchase larger quantities and ship less often. Additionally, many hazardous
materials can no longer be shipped by air. Some materials which are not considered hazardous when shipped by
surface transport, are classified hazardous when shipped by air. Hazardous material handling charges for air
transport are $80.00, plus cost of transport. Please asess your needs accordingly.
Damages
Great care is exercised to insure the safe arrival of your order. Please inspect all shipments and note any signs of
& Claims
damage prior to acceptance of goods. Should an order be damaged, or picked improperly, we must be notified
within 72 hours of receipt. Please do not destroy any packing materials, as they may be needed for inspection to
complete a damage claim. Our customer service representative will institute the necessary claim procedures in case
of shipping damage and advise you how to proceed.
Returns
Be especially cautious with goods via common carrier. Unless noted, visable damages to the carton must be
noted on the delivery receipt. Failure to note this type of damage often results in the denial of a damaged claim.
Always inspect all cartons for visable signs of damage. Do not be intimidated by delivery personnel who want an
immediate signature without inspection. Your signature is interpreted as receipt of goods in good condition as
stated on the Bill of Lading.
Guarantee
No merchandise can be accepted for return without prior authorization. Please note that certain items are not
accepted for return, such as chemicals and fabrics. All returns may be subject to a re-stocking charge in addition
to all freight charges.
Service
We are a professional supply house. We are not consultants and advise that prior to use all products be tested for
suitability and the current literature be checked. If you require merchandise that is not described in this catalog,
send detailed information and we will try to obtain it for you.
