FINALLY OUTSIDE IN THE
GREAT OUTDOORS, WHERE
ADVENTURES AWAIT –
AND DANGERS LURK.
Running, climbing, playing, messing around – an accident can
quickly happen //
Children are not very good at assessing risks
in the great outdoors. But adults should be. And they should
also be well prepared in case something happens. This is why
it only makes sense that the subject of safety has the highest
priority when planning your expedition. How far away is the
nearest mountain refuge? Do you have to rely on an emer-
gency bivouac shelter?
And very importantly: do you have the right equipment for an
outdoor emergency? After all, in an extreme situation a first-
aid kit is crucial to the health and survival of the expedition
participants– whether young or old. So don’t make any com-
promises regarding the contents, the quality of the products,
and fast and easy access. And if you know exactly what to do
in the worst-case scenario then you’ll be well prepared for all
contingencies.

 YOU WILL HAVE EVERYTHING
UNDER CONTROL: WITH FIRST-
AID KITS FROM TATONKA AND
THE OUTDOORSCHULE SÜD e.V.
IN AN EMERGENCY YOUR
HELP IS REQUIRED. WITH
THE RIGHT EQUIPMENT AND
THE NECESSARY KNOWLEDGE
YOU’LL BE ON THE SAFE SIDE.
A sprained ankle, broken finger, acute stomach ache, or an aller-
gic reaction? //
Not too much of a serious problem if you can get
to a hospital or alert the emergency services quickly. But what
happens when you’re out and about in the middle of a forest, in
the mountains or the desert? Here you should also be able to
administer practical first aid when things get really risky.
Thirdly.
Like the first-aid bags, the contents are of the best,
uncompromising quality.
Three examples: 1. Instead of a non-sterile gauze bandage the
first-aid kits contain a dressing back with non-sticky wound
dressing. 2. The triangular cloth is not made from low-quality
fleece, but from a high-quality fabric that doesn’t tear and
which can absorb water to cool down burns. 3. The
TATONKA
bandage scissors cut excellently – unlike the typical dummy
type found in many bandage sets.
Fourthly.
In every first-aid kit you will find the outdoor first-
aid crib sheet and a checklist to help you make important addi-
tions and regular checks of your equipment.
e.V. in Hinterzarten, Germany, is the largest provider of out-
door emergency management in German-speaking countries.
In realistic outdoor emergency training sessions the associa-
tion teaches specialist knowledge, which goes far beyond the
contents of customary first-aid courses. More information
about the seminar schedule can be found on their website at
www.outdoorschule-sued.de
The fi rst-aid kits are packed by people with
disabilities at the Ulrichwerkstätten
workshop in Schwabmünchen in Bavaria,
Germany.
In order for you to be able to really help in an outdoor emer-
gency, you’ll need a first-aid kit that offers more than the
average basic medical set. This is why, together with the
Out-
doorschule Süd
, we have developed a first-aid system with six
special products – for example
First Aid Sterile
for long-haul
journeys in countries where hygiene isn’t up to basic standards,
First Aid Advanced
for group leaders who have responsibility
for others, or
First Aid Basic
as basic equipment for one per-
son on a one-day tour. These kits are setting new benchmarks
in many respects:
Firstly.
With the compact first-aid sets there is neither a lack of
room nor unnecessary space. The bag is exactly tailored to fit
the contents and is clearly divided into sections.
Secondly.
The first-aid bags are already filled and come with
the contents included. This is not only practical, but in an emer-
gency it is also essential for survival because you’ll immediately
have everything you need close to hand.
Furthermore,
TATONKA
offers many other first-aid products
for all uses: from the
First Aid School
for children to
First Aid Mini
as a little emergency helper down to the indi-
vidually fillable
First Aid Pack
emergency rucksack. But as
well as the right equipment, in an emergency what also counts
is that you have the necessary knowledge. To perfectly equip
you for emergency situations in the great outdoors, we recom-
mend regular emergency training, for example at the seminars
by the
Outdoorschule Süd e.V.

This spacious first-aid box offers enough space for individual first-aid
equipment for several people. Perfect for your next camping holiday.
The right partner for safety matters //
The Outdoorschule Süd
Much more than just a first-aid book //
“Erste Hilfe Outdoor” (only
available in the German language) is an in-depth reference con-
taining all important information about outdoor emergency man-
agement – from the training to the equipment, down to adminis-
tering the perfect first aid. The author Peter Oster, an experienced
trainer from the Outdoorschule Süd, avoids the bossy school
teacher approach, instead choosing to address his readers in a
relaxed manner. This makes “Erste Hilfe Outdoor” not only a
high-quality medical read, but also an entertaining one.
The “Erste Hilfe Outdoor” (First Aid Outdoors) book (only available
in the German language) is published by ZIEL-Verlag, ISBN 978-
3-940562-02-9. More information on the collection of ZIEL Verlag

First Aid Complete
The perfect first-aid equipment for all outdoor activities.
The full features in terms of safety are particularly
recommended for use “off the beaten track”, where fast-acting medical attention is not guaranteed. When administered correctly, fi rst aid can prevent
problems in the future and in an emergency situation there’s no time to make your way to the nearest doctor to wait for help. First Aid Complete is
designed for up to four people and expeditions of up to 7 days. But that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t take any less care on your travels.
Cheating is allowed in first aid //
The best
equipment is of no use if you don’t know
what to do with it. So that you can keep a
cool head in an emergency outdoor situa-
tion and can act correctly, every
TATONKA
first-aid kit contains a simple “crib sheet”
from the Outdoorschule Süd. Step by
step it explains to you what you need to
do in an emergency situation. All steps
are explained using humorous and use-
ful memory aids and are illustrated with
pictures.
